DR. SANFORD KATIMSÂ OD
Dr. Sanford Katims (Sandy) is a graduate of Syracuse University and Illinois College of Optometry class of 1982; he has been practicing here in Port Washington since then. Dr. Sandy has extensive experience in LASIK co-management and was a commissioned lecturer for Johnson & Johnson contact lenses. He has many years of experience treating glaucoma, eye infections, dry eye and most other conditions affecting the eye and visual system. In his spare time, he likes to play golf, watch golf, shop for golf equipment, practice hitting golf balls at the driving range, and spend time with his family.
DR. RACHEL KATIMS OD
Dr. Rachel Katims has performed over 30,000 comprehensive eye exams and specializes in the fitting of both rigid gas permeable and multifocal contact lenses. She also manages dry eye, glaucoma, pediatrics and pre/post operative eyecare. Dr. Rachel graduated from Binghamton University with a degree in integrative neuroscience in 2015 and graduated from SUNY College of Optometry in 2019. She has held externships at New York Eye and Ear at Mt. Sinai, the Harbor Health VA hospital, State University of NY Eye Clinic, as well as Flinders University Eye Clinic in South Australia. When out of office, Dr. Rachel can be found around Port enjoying time with her son, puppy and husband.
